Hello! I’m thrilled you are joining me here today in the CLASSroom! As a pet lover the new Dog Lady Leading Lady and Cat Lady Leading Lady images from the Essentials By Ellen collection are right up my alley! I decided to create two cards today featuring stenciled background scenes that perfectly compliment and showcase these new leading ladies!
For the Dog Lady Leading Lady background scene I stenciled Lucky Clover Distress Oxide onto a smooth white background using the My Favorite Things Drifts and Hills Stencil. The sky was inked with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and the My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil.
A greeting from the Dog Lady Stamp Set was stamped in the upper portion of the background and the Leading Lady, dogs, and accessory images were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, colored in with colored pencils, blended with Gamsol and a stump pencil, then die cut with the coordinating Dog Lady dies.
Finishing details were added to the images with black and white jelly roll pens and a fine tip black pen.
The Cat Lady Leading Lady background was stenciled with Fired Brick Distress Oxide Ink and the Tim Holtz Bricked Stencil. The bottom of the background was masked off prior to stenciling and then the mask was moved to ink in a sidewalk landscape with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.
A greeting from the Cat Lady Stamp Set was stamped in the upper left of the background and the Leading Lady, cats, and accessory images were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, colored in with colored pencils, blended with Gamsol and a stump pencil, then die cut with the coordinating Cat Lady dies.
The backgrounds were adhered to white top fold A2 card bases and the corners were rounded with a 1/2” corner rounder.
