Embossing folders are a very cool & very easy way to add texture and interest to your paper crafting projects! I mean look how cute this card is! (Am I allowed to say my card is cute? LOL!)
I love a card with a good white background and I love the soft texture of the hearts! Plus how adorable is that kitty from the new Leading Ladies - Cat Lady set?!
Sometimes I want to add a little more color but the keep the simple, soft texture. I could ink the whole embossing folder...a cool trick I learned from Miss Julie (check out some of her awesome ideas here). Or I could do a little inking before I emboss...
- Mask a section or shape on your cardstock panel. I love to use low-tack tape for simple rectangles and die cut masking paper for shapes like hearts.
- Apply ink to the masked section. For these cards, I used Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink because it is easy to blend on any paper and because it creates such a fun, layer-y look.
- Remove masking, let ink dry and emboss! It's so easy but it creates such a fun one-layer background.
