Hi everyone! Welcome to Satur-YAY! We're celebrating the weekend by getting our craft on. There's no better way to spend it!
Today's cards feature the new Arctic Pals stamps and dies. Love these fun new stamps designed by Julie!
I'll be coloring them using my Zig Art & Graphic Twin markers. These are great for quick coloring and blending. You can achieve solid colored images, or achieve a soft watercolored look and easy blending. They're a versatile water-based marker.
If you want to know more about the Zig Art & Graphic Twin markers, be sure to check out this video. I'll give lots more information there!
I'll show you exactly how I achieved the watercolor background and soft blending on my images in the video tutorial. Be sure to check it out.
Tips For Great Results With Zig Art & Graphic Twin Markers
- Use the right paper. I prefer Bristol Smooth paper for blending with these water-based markers. The coated surface allows the ink to easily blend on the surface of the paper.
- You can easily add shading by adding your ink directly to the paper in the areas you want darkest. Blend out with a lighter color, the Zig blender pen or a shimmer pen for a shimmery finish.
- Use a permanent ink to stamp your images. My favorites for this are Versafine and Archival. If you're going to use the Versafine, be sure to heat set it prior to coloring so your lines won't bleed or smudge.
I've also used several supplies from the Frozen Bundle in these projects, which coordinates beautifully with the Essentials By Ellen January release.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed these projects. I can't wait to see what you're making this lovely Satur-YAY! Be sure to share on social media using #EllenHutsonSaturYAY so I can check it out!
Until next time, happy Satur-YAY and I hope you have a fabulous day!
XOXO
