Welcome to day 11 of Ellen Hutson's Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist. I am delighted to be sharing the day with Angie Backman one of the co-owners of Concord & 9th, so it will come as no surprise that both of our projects feature that amazing product line :)
To get started, Angie and I used the beautiful image from the blog Craft Berry Bush as our color inspiration for today's projects. While still a bit traditional with the forest green, it is decidedly shabby-chic, which I loved!
I decided to use the awesome Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout as my featured stamp for today's project, and used the following ink colors to stamp with (All Altenew) Blush, Forest Glades, Sea glass, Evening Grey. Those colors were stamped onto Solar white cardstock by Neenah. I brought the lovely light tan color from the inspirational image by using Chocolate Malt cardstock by Bazzill.
This was my first time using one of the Concord & 9th Turnabout stamp sets and I LOVE the effect it gives. However, it is definitely helpful to first watch one of the instructional videos from Concord & 9th's You Tube channel in order to learn how to use it properly. Here's the excellent video that I found very helpful:
Just as they showed in this video, using a stamp positioner such as the MISTI (large or small), is really important for this particular technique in order to get the image lined up properly.
Here's a closer image of my tag, please keep in mind that the pink shows up much better in real life, but it doesn't photograph super well in contrast to the deeper colors.
In addition to the afore mentioned products, I also used the beautiful Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Borderlines Trio with white cardstock to make the white scalloped border. The beautiful blue cardstock is Icy Mint by Bazzill.
I made my tag as a gift tag to be tied to a package and then decided to make a coordinating card using the same colors and stamp as my starting point.
The card has a few more products in addition to those used for the tag: The Concertina Tag by Essentials by Ellen, Solid Stripes Kraft paper by My Favorite Things, Winter Whites Sequin mix by 28 Lilac Lane, ledger paper from an old ledger book found at an antique shop.
Thanks for joining me today, now onto Angie's tag!
