Hello and HAPPY WATERCOLOR WEEKEND! I'm Sandy Allnock, and I just have to say I got so excited when Ellen said she'd host a special weekend event for watercoloring. What's better than that!?
The timing is perfect, too - recently the DANIEL SMITH Watercolor folks asked if I'd select my own favorite 18 colors and they would make a dot card! They do this with a number of their artists - they typically use them for giveaways when they go to shows and events, so I guess my little dot card is going to end up in all kinds of places!
YOU, my friends, can be among the first to get one! Starting today, customers who purchase any DANIEL SMITH products will have one of my dot cards included....but only while supplies last! If one of my colors intrigues you, snag one - then you can try out the rest of the colors when you receive your dot card. Recommendation? Pearlescent Shimmer. You can use that with any other watercolor and make it twinkle! :)
Okay, now that I have THAT excitement out of the way....you know if I'm here visiting in the CLASSroom, then I've got a video for you, right?
In this video, I give you a peek at the video over on my channel that has more about setting up a palette. And then I'll show you how to make some sweet and easy trees using two greens and a little yellow - so so easy! I taught this to folks at CHA and you'd be amazed at the beautiful trees people painted in just minutes.
LINK: Watch in HD on our YouTube Channel HERE.
I'll warn you now - painting trees can honestly be addictive. Don't say I didn't warn you!
By the way - If you get that palette and want to just read the instructions on the PDF, download it here....you may want to go see the full video on my blog too, and that's here.
On my YouTube channel tomorrow, I'm hoping to figure out how to do a live broadcast - first time, eeep! Wish me luck, and come visit at 1pm Pacific time!
Sandy
These are the 18 colors in my dot card. SHHHH Do not tell all the other colors! This was like choosing between children:
