Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. I had lots of fun playing with the newly released Spa Day Stamps and Spa Day Die sets. I love the relaxed expression on the lady’s face and wished I could trade places with her.
I die cut the images out and them stamped them stamped using the Onyx Black Versafine ink. I stamped the spa lady once on Arches hot pressed watercolor paper and a second time on Robin’s Egg cardstock. I stamped the drink glass and lotion bottle on white cardstock and embossed. I didn’t take step by step photos of the stamping and coloring of the smaller images.
I like to use the lid of my distress inks as a palette when I watercolor with reinkers. A tiny little spot of reinker will go a very long way. I used Tea Dye and Worn Lipstick reinkers to color the skin of the spa lady. The smaller images were watercolored using Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass reinkers.
I cut the turban and the towel off of the blue image and paper pieced the pieces to the main image layer using glossy accents..
I created a double matted frame and attached the two sections together using double stick tape.
I stamped the sentiment on a white piece of cardstock and embossed. I attached strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the blue card base with ATG adhesive.
I used my fingers to gently form and round the spa lady and applied pieces of mounting tape to her back as well as to the glass and lotion bottle and attached them to the frame.
This is such a fun set to play with all of the embellishment pieces and sentiments. I loved the “Friday is Overrated” sentiment. I think we all deserve a wonderful spa day at the end of a long work week. How about you?
If you missed the new release blog hop yesterday you will definitely want to check out all the wonderful projects. There are some very fun and creative cards made using this set that you don’t want to miss. You can find the complete blog hop list here.
