Hi! Laurel here and today is not just the first day of our special series, but also the beginning of our last Mix It Up Challenge of 2016! We are mixing it up with Art Impressions and also have a fun color inspiration as an added twist in celebration of the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.
Before we get to all the details, please join me in congratulating our November Pin-Sights participant who was randomly selected to receive the $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store!!! Heather! Please email me at (laurelbeard at me dot com) to claim your prize!!!
A friendly recap: The Mix it Up Challenge is a challenge where we invite one manufacturer to contribute a design that combines Essentials by Ellen stamps/dies with their product to inspire our readers!
Today, myself and Sandy Allnock, are here to share our tags based on the color palette inspiration. We are both mixing it up with Art Impressions and Essentials by Ellen products! Let's first take a look at my tag:
1. Die cut a tag from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags. Align one of the images from the Art Impressions Merriest Christmas stamp set onto the left side of the tag and stamp with Memento Black ink (Copic friendly ink).
2. Color the image with Copics or any coloring medium of your choice. Colored Pencils, Watercolors (but I recommend you use watercolored cardstock), or your kids crayons!!! :)
3. Once the Santa image is colored, apply a heavy coating of shine using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen. Stamp the sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen 'Tis The Season stamp set.
4. To add some texture, apply a heavy coating white Liquid Applique to Santa's coat, color and hat. Apply a very thin amount to Santa's beard. Use a heat tool to dry the Liquid Applique. Once dry, the fluid will poof up to create the fun cotton ball/ snow like texture! Finish off the tag by tying some Peppermint Hemp thru the top of the tag! :)
We are thrilled to have our friend Sandy Allnock join us! Sandy is constantly inspiring us with her amazing art and masterful use of mediums. Her tag today does not disappoint! Make sure you check out Sandy's blog to see more of her incredible work!
