Hello and welcome to day 7 of the 12 tags of Christmas with a feminine twist. This is always, by far, my most favorite of Ellen Hutson CLASSroom posts all year!
For this project, I had the pleasure of work with Melania Deasy! She's fabulous. For both our tags, we used this sketch...
I went with a very loose interpretation of this sketch - using the lines for images and blocks of color.
To start, I die cut my tag and ink blended two colors to create the top two stripes from my sketch.
Next I colored in my images.
I wanted to jazz up the list so I stamped some fun snowflakes in Avery Elle silver fox ink.
I die cut my cute elf out and added some white gel pen accents.
Next, I added a snowdrift and also die cut some mountains. These form the bottom two stripes on my tag.
Next I assembled. Can you see the stripes?
Lastly, I added a sentiment using my MISTI. Genius tool. I couldn't live without it!
I added more white gel pen accents in the sky!
Finally, I added the ribbon!
I didn't get a pic of it, but I added some last minute sequins for sparkly snow drops! I love how creating a simple sketch can by such a springboard for ideas!
We are so excited to welcome the amazingly talented Melania Deasy back to The CLASSroom today to help us celebrate Avery Elle! We are sure you have seen Melania's colorful & happy work for companies like Avery Elle, Mama Elepahnt & MFT (just to name a few). We love Melania's interpretation of the sketch! Her tags are sweet, sparkly & sophisticated! Make sure you head over to Melania's blog to see more over her beautiful work!
