Good Sunday morning and welcome to day 11 of the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist. I look forward to this special holiday celebration each year and am always anxious to see all of the wonderful designs.
I chose a Country Christmas inspiration theme that both Anna and I would use for our tags. I love making wreaths for my holiday projects and thought a twiggy wreath with pine and holly along with old-fashioned gingham in the background would be perfect for my country theme. I created the wreath using the branches of the Impression Obsession Wide Tree paired with the Holly Flourish, Wreath Builder and Pine Pair.
I cut six tree sections to use for the wreath. I started by misting each section with water to prepare for ink.
Swipe the ink pad directly over the wet tree to apply the ink. This makes apply the ink so fast and easy.
Cut each tree section apart where the main branch forks off to create two branches.
Form the branches with a stylus and molding pad to create a more dimension.
Begin applying sections of the branches with glossy accents and work all the way around the wreath base.
When you get all the way around you will need to lift the branches of the first section that was attached and place the last piece under it to complete the circle.
Cut three sections of holly and cut apart into smaller sections. Attach tiny punched red circles to the holly with glossy accents for berries and apply clear Wink of Stella to the berries to add sparkle. Cut several pieces of pine to use along with the holly to fill in the wreath. Tie a pretty full multi loop bow. You can see a video tutorial on my blog to see how I tie my bows.
Apply three glue dots to the back of the bow and attach it to the wreath. I always attach the bow in a place that may not be quite as full as I would like it to fill in the spot.
Cut a little off the end of each pine branch to shorten to fit the wreath. Apply glossy accents to the branches and tuck them under and around the bow.
Once the pine is in place apply glossy accents to the holly sections and tuck in around the pine.
Apply ATG adhesive to the gingham paper and white scored cardstock and cover the #8 manila tag.
Apply glossy accents to the back of the wreath and attach to the tag.
