I love love love when I can use my craft supplies for more than just to make cards! When I saw the Happy Birthday Banner from Taylored Expressions I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Today's post shares how to use felt and dies and a few other basic supplies from around the house to make an adorable cupcake topper!!!
First, I used the banner to cut the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" from Taylored Expressions felt. Side note: this project would work just as great with paper but I love how the felt moves here!
Can I just tell you that this felt cuts like BUTTER!!!! It's amazing. I was actually a little worried because felt I've worked with in the past has never cut cleanly but this was incredible.
Then, I took some boring straws and wrapped washi tape around them. This would be adorable with paper straws but again - I love having a chance to stretch my stash and also it's a terrific use of wash tape! (and a great excuse to buy more!)
Next, I used glue dots to secure the banners in place. I used a thin stamping block to elevate the banners to the same level as the straws.
Ta-da! All done. I finished it off with some bows die cut from the same 3 pack of Taylored Expressions felt.
Super cute right? I could make 50 of these I loved this project so much!
Thanks so much for dropping by and sharing part of your day with me!
XOXO,
Heather
