Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. The summer heat has struck us here in Florida and makes me long for sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in. With that in mind I decided I would share a beach scene with you made using the Impression Obsession Single Beach Chair, Sea Birds and Mini Beach Fun Set.
Create a frame mask by cutting a 5.00” x 3.75” piece of printer paper and cut the rectangle frame using Nesting Card Templates. Apply removable adhesive on the back of the frame and attach it in place on the scene base.
Apply blue ink on the bottom portion of the paper with an ink blending tool to create the water.
Use a mini applicator to apply brown ink on the water’s edge to create the beach. I used the mini applicator instead of the larger ink blending tool since it was for a smaller area.
Turn the scene upside down and apply the blue sky area with the ink blending tool.
Sketch out a few sections of sea grass with a green marker.
Apply embossing paste along the water’s edge to create the appearance of sea foam. I used my finger to dab on the paste so I lightly spread it around.
Remove the mask. I took my green marker and sketched out a couple more sprigs of grass on the white frame area.
Apply mounting tape to the back of your scene and attach to the A2 card base. I think popping the scene up adds dimension and interest to the project.
Lightly apply gray ink to the bird wings with a mini applicator.
Attach the chair in place using a thin strip of mounting tape along the seat section but apply tiny drops of glossy accents to the feet so they stay down on the sand. I added a little more embossing paste around the feet of the chair. Attach the birds and bucket in the scene with mounting tape and the flip flops with glossy accents.
It is so fun to see how sponging a little blue and brown ink on paper can be turned into a pretty scene with the addition of a few die cuts.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have been inspired to create a beach scene of your own.
