Hi everyone! Carolyn Peeler with you today to share this sweet little card. This card would be the perfect "just because" greeting to send to a close friend or family member to let them know how much you care.
Let's get started, first, we're going to make the flower that is the focal point of the card. To do this, gather your favorite watercolor paper, white embossing powder, Versamark (or embossing) ink and the Wildflower Stamps from Concord & 9th. Stamp the image using Versamark onto your watercolor paper, then sprinkle with embossing powder and heat emboss.
After embossing, use your scissors to cut the flower out, leaving a slight border around it. Now it's time to watercolor it using Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress inks.
While you're waiting for the flower to dry, you can set up the card base. So, grab your patterned paper. Both papers on my card are from the Crate Paper Bloom 6" x 6" paper pad. Which is a pretty awesome paper collection! This card is actually a small note card, it is 3.5" x 5". So, cut the gingham paper 3.5" x 5", and the marble paper 2" x 3.5".
Taking the marble paper, you're going to stamp the greet from the Mama Elephant "Bear hugs" stamp set front and center using Tuxedo Black ink from Momento.
Glue the marble paper across the bottom of the gingham paper. Then, glue a strip of the beautiful Best Creation Glitter Tape down the left side of the patterned papers. (If you haven't tried this tape yet, I want to tell you how nice it is. The most important thing to me with glitter products is that the glitter doesn't shed, and this stuff stays put - Yeah!)
Next, using white pearls, place 3 of them above the greeting.
Next, attach the flower to the center of the gingham patterned paper using 3D foam adhesives.
Using a sewing machine and white thread, sew a short little zig zag line under the greeting.
Cut a piece of white cardstock 5" x 7" and fold in half to make your card base. Glue the finished card front onto your card base. The final step is to use a corner rounder to round the right top and bottom corners. And that's it! You're notecard is ready to be given to someone special <3
