Happy Friday (and holiday weekend), everyone! Today I was in the mood to get out my Distress Inks and get a little inky! Here are the results:
I can't believe I hadn't inked up most of the stamps in this adorable Up the Happy stamp set yet ... It's just SO sweet and happy ... I thought it would make a great teen girl's birthday card!
Here are the easy steps to create this card (bold products are linked below in the supply section):
Stamp clouds, balloon and string with Versamark ink onto a 110 lb. Neenah Solar White card front panel. Heat emboss with clear powder:
Next, start applying Distress Ink to the balloons. I found Ranger's 1-inch Round Ink Blending Tool is just about the perfect size to fit the balloon image! I just inked it up well, placed the sponge over the balloon and twisted in place!
I used Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, and Picked Raspberry on the balloons. Then I used Tumbled Glass to ink the rest of the background of the panel ... darker towards the top and a little lighter towards the bottom of the panel. I love how the embossed images resist the ink, creating a soft, dreamy look!
After the panel is fully inked, use a tissue to wipe any ink off the embossed images.
Next, I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment with Jet Black Archival ink ... just in case I messed it up or it didn't stamp very well!
To finish the card:
-Trim about 1/8-inch from one side of the stamped panel.
-Adhere 1/2-inch strip of Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock to the left side of a 110 lb. Neenah Solar White card base.
-Adhere stamped panel with X-Press It Foam Tape to the card base.
-Adhere clear sequins to card using Matte Multi Medium.
Thank you so much for joining me today ... I hope you get a chance to get inky and have a little fun over the long holiday weekend!
