Hi there! It's Carly and I'm here for another #throwbackthurdays where we explore awesome ideas & techniques from The Classroom archive.
I've been celebrating a week of copper color inspiration on my blog and in preparation I picked up 2 things from our shop that I couldn't wait to use, thread and embossing powder. After searching in The Classroom I found an awesome tag by Ellen with a thread element I had to duplicate! Check out Ellen's amazing tag:
12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2014 - Day 12 by Ellen Hutson
And here's the card I created:
I started by stamping and embossing the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms on the top of a Bristol panel. WOW recommends melting powder from the bottom and I've found that is especially important when there is glitter in the powder. If you heat from the top, the glitter flies every where.
The WOW Turkish Nights embossing powder is insanely gorgeous! It's a mix of glitter & powder, copper & rose gold, pink & purple. Here's a close up (that doesn't even do it justice):
Next I cut 2-1/2 circles from Core'dinations copper foil and a sheet of Be Creative tape.
Using Ellen's technique I layered the foil circle over the tape, removed the liner and wrapped copper thread around the circle.
I cut a 2 inch circle from my card front and then adhered the wrapped copper circle behind it.
I stamped and embossed my sentiment. Then adhered my panel to an A2 card.
