Happy Thursday! It's Carly and I'm here for #throwbackthursdays!
There are some awesome new wood veneer products at Ellen Hutson LLC from Arc Crafts that looked so fun to play with. I know wood veneer is one of Julie's favorites so I knew I would find lots of fun techniques from her in The Classroom archives. Here are some of the fabulously-amazing articles I found:
And my favorite was this one:
I love the inlaid effect and I couldn't wait to try it with the Essentials by Ellen Bed of Rose die. Here's what I came up with:
I started by die cutting my Arc Crafts White Birch Wood Sheet. These sheets are self-adhesive and die cut beautifully but if I had been thinking clearly I would have added a dryer sheet to collect all the little pieces I'm going to need. You can read/watch Julie use the dryer sheet here.
I wasn't that smart so I ended up with lots of loose pieces to ink.
After the little pieces were good and inky with Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, I let them dry (which takes a little bit longer on the wood veneer than cardstock) and applied the die cut Bed of Roses panel to an A2 Solar White card. Then i placed them back into the design.
I added little rhinestones to the center of my inlaid flowers and a sentiment stamped & embossed in white on black.
Have a great day!
