Happy Thursday! Carly here for #throwbackthursdays!
I've had my eye on the Brusho at Ellen Hutson for a bit but I kept telling myself no because I already had lots of watercolors and not enough space in my craft room (I'm sure a few of you can relate, lol). This week my curiosity about the watercolor powders won. After purchasing my first little Brusho, I knew I wanted to paint a background but I needed some inspiration for a card. I LOVE Julie's cards so I searched "Hello Monday" in The Classroom archives. This Hello, Monday inspired my card design:
I started by stamping flowers from the Concord & 9th Wildflower set with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and embossing with clear detail powder.
Next I taped my stamped panel to a hardbord and started painting around the flowers with clean water. Then I sprinkled on just a little Brusho and blended to my liking.
And I loved the Brusho! The Ostwald Blue spreads into beautiful shades of blue and violet. And the stray crystals on the insides of my flowers were easily brushed/blown off.
Once my panel was painted and dry, I cut it down to fit an A2 Solar White card.
Then I stamped my sentiment in Delicata Copper (available in the set) and embossed in clear.
Finally I added a little copper splatter with the Delicata Copper and a few sequins.
Thanks for stopping by!
