Hello Hello! So happy to be here today playing with watercolors again. Oh boy, they're addicting! I absolutely love watercolors for coloring in stamped images and creating custom backgrounds, both of which I do here!
First, I stamped all of the images in the set I thought I might want to layer on watercolor card stock. I used some older pieces I had laying around but linked up a few different watercolor card stocks for you below!
Watercoloring images is, I think, one of the easiest ways to add color! I love how I can add and take away colors (using a baby wipe to take away) super easily!
Once I had the images colored, I die cut everything out.
Then I watercolored a custom background. The tough part was letting it dry.... Ugh, must. be. patient.
While it was drying, I wanted a border, so I created one with a few different die cuts.
Once I die cut the outer die, I die cut the inner window die.
Wahoo! I love stretching my dies!
Once my watercolor background was dry, I secured it to a card base and added the trees (cutting them with scissors to match the card size).
Then I added that die cut border. I needed the trees to appear behind the border but I can easily add the rest of the bits later. So pretty, right?
Then, I added the critters.
To ground the bunny and hugging bird, I stamped some grass in green ink.
Sequins. They go on every card.
And finally, white gel pen accents! I love this touch!
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me. Will you try your hand at watercoloring stamped images?
XOXO,
Heather
