Hippity-hop! It's time to get busy on your Easter projects as it's early this year! Yes, it's sneaking up on me too so I made sure to mark my calendar in large letters so I get on it! Today I'm excited to share a quick (and yummy) Easter project that is sure to delight. Soooo gorgeous, it's gold and glam and chocolaty and it looks like you went to a ton of work. Shhhhh...it's not! But that's our secret, right?
These glassine envelopes full of chocolate and beautifully tagged make great table accents and party favors. Tie on an additional tiny tag and you can even make them into place cards.
I'm seriously addicted to the Minc and gold and foil and...did I say how gorgeous it is yet?! Love it! Here's a few of the supplies for the project.
First step is to fill the glassine bags with chocolate. If you sneak some, I won't tell! Then set them aside while you make the tags.
The main focal point of the tags is the gorgeous foil butterflies. These are the 3D Minc Foil Butterflies from Heidi Swapp. They come pre-printed with the toner design and pre-die-cut. I'm not sure if that's a word but we'll just go with it. You know what I mean. So just punch them out and they are ready to be foiled.
I love all colors of foil but I've chosen gold foil for this project. The first step is to lay the items to be foiled on the carrier sheet, face up. Then lay the foil with the shiny foil side UP over the items. Close the top of the carrier sheet.
I like to flip me sheet over just to double check that nothing has moved and everything is in the right place. If items overlap, that section won't be foiled.
Next check the back of the packaging for the Minc setting. This project uses a 3 so I pushed the Minc button until the 3 lights up.
It will light up red. This means the machine is still warming up.
Once the light turns green you are good to go. Slide the sheet into the machine and let it feed itself through slowly.
Remove the carrier sheet from the Minc. Remove foil and immediately your foiled items are ready to be used. Set the butterflies aside until needed.
I've used the gorgeous Dear Heart 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey. It has some stunning prints that are perfect for spring!
I've used a MFT Stamps Circle STAX die set to die cut the tag bases from the patterned paper prints. I've used graduated dies to die cut multiple layers. The largest die that I chose is for the base, the medium size is for a vellum layer and the smallest die chosen was for another patterned paper layer.
Here's how I put them all together. The foil butterflies are adhered on top of the vellum circle layer.
I thought joy would be the perfect sentiment for Easter. This joy die cut is from the Essentials by Ellen line. It's a beautiful die that I love to use over and over again.
Punch the top of the circular tag with a Crop-a-dile or other small circle punch.
Wrap jute twine around the glassine envelope and tie a bow on the tag to finish it off!
Thanks so much for joining me today in the CLASSroom! Have a fabulous and creative weekend!
