So I really wanted to do some two-step stamping but I wanted to use the gorgeous new Mondo Hydrangea (which isn't technically designed as a two-step stamp). What to do...
I knew I could ink the "wrong" side of the stamp as the background but I decided to try something a little more loosey-goosey for a more painted look. Here's the result:
1. I started by applying two colors of Izink to my non-stick craft mat. (Have you tried Izink yet? Seriously it has awesome colors and is so versatile!)
2. Next I misted my Izink with water and put my Mondo Hydrangea stamp into it to "ink" it up. Messy but fun.
3. I stamped on to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel of Solar White.
4. Then I inked and stamped my hydrangea again. Even messier the 2nd time but the 2nd time also put more color down.
5. I set my backgrounds aside to dry and went to work die cutting my sentiment. I used the new Essentials by Ellen Brushstroke Hello die. I adhered 3 layers of black with a layer of gold foil on top to create a dimensional look.
6. On my dry background (I used the messy one with more color), I stamped the hydrangea again with Versafine.
7. I assembled my card, finishing it with a little black splatter and gold sequins.
