Hi Everyone! Carly here for another #throwbackthursdays!
Like many of you I have more than one white ink pad, in fact when I started this project I found three on my desk (hee hee). I wanted to try a new technique with some of my white ink so I began searching The Classroom archives. I found a really cool article by the awesome Karolyn Loncon. Check it out...
Velveteen Stamping with Karolyn Loncon
Cool right?! Well I had to try it and here's what I came up with:
1. I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel of Solar White and on it I stamped this PinkFresh Studio Clear Stamp, Doodle Background with Lawn Fawn Yeti ink. A little tip from Karolyn, your white ink needs to be a pigment ink. And a little bit more from me, Hero Arts Unicorn White also works but Distress Ink Picket Fence is not as great for this technique (I tested all the ones of my desk).
2. While my white ink was still wet, I stamped a dot from the Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dot set with different dye inks (Navy, Tide Pool, Coral Berry & Sunflower), cleaning my dot stamp well between each color. I chose colors from a variety of brands and I was happy with all of them.
3. To complete my balloons, I stamped the balloon outline and strings from the Essentials by Ellen Up The Happy set. I also used a sentiment from Up The Happy.
4. I applied some washi tape to a Solar White A2 card as "binding". Then I trimmed my panel down just a bit and adhered in to my card.
5. And I embellished the card just a bit with black thread and silver star sequins.
Thanks for stopping by!
