This design features some "sorta" free-hand watercolor painting... Don't laugh and don't expect my depiction of our planet earth to be accurate... This is "art", after all, so I took "artistic liberties". Hah! It didn't turn out half bad, considering I was wingin' the whole thing. ;)
I highly recommend watching Sandy Allnock's wonderfully informative video, to learn more about Daniel Smith watercolor paints specifically.
This was my very first time playing with tube style watercolors. I need to emphasize that I am a novice watercolorer! The colors are beautiful, intense and vibrant! If you are just getting started, you can get an AMAZING range of colors by mixing what comes in the Watercolor Essentials Set.
NOTE: In the video you'll see me use an Umezara Palette, which I do love, but it's better suited for watercolor methods where it isn't a big deal if I need to clean the palette (i.e. when I use water-based markers, or Distress Stains for watercolor, etc.). One thing I plan to invest in right away, for use with these high quality artist watercolors, is an airtight storage palette, like this one: Mijello Fusion 33 Airtight Watercolor Palette, so that if I don't use up all the paint in a session, I can save it for later use.

I must admit that Up The Happy is my favorite from the Winter 2016 release... I just love the sentiments and sooooo glad to finally have them in stamp form... :)
Happy Mundane!
