As all the brand new products roll in, I am so excited to try them out! Today I have a card design sharing some new CHA releases that have me giving them a huge thumbs up. Some new patterned paper just looks as gorgeous and springtime and a cool way to add foil to your designs. It doesn't even need a laminator!
I've paired them both together to create this thank you card. I can't wait to give it away!
First of all I started off with a sheet of the new Prima Marketing Adhesive Rub Ons. I LOVE this product! It comes in all kinds of designs and an adhesive rub on?!! Come on! I've been a huge fan of rub-ons for years and I'm so excited to see them coming back. Add in this new twist and I'm pretty much over the moon! These rub-ons come in a sheet that you can cut up and choose which rub-ons to use on your design. I chose this lovely butterfly as it's so beautiful and classic and I knew it would look stunning glammed up in gold foil.
After cutting out the rub-on, peel off the backing and place onto the paper you want to transfer the image onto. Rub the transfer sheet well to apply the adhesive firmly to the paper. I've used a bone folder and they work really well for transferring.
You can see a slight change in the color of the adhesive once it is released from the transfer sheet. Carefully remove the transfer sheet and do not touch the adhesive transfer.
Cut out a piece of foil...any color. I used gold but there are a myriad of options in the Ellen Hutson LLC shop. Again, using the bone folder, rub the surface of the foil to apply it to the adhesive. Carefully remove the foil and you will have a beautifully foiled image to use.
Once the butterfly was foiled, I chose some gorgeous prints from the new Bloom by Maggie Holmes Paper Pad. It is absolutely stunning and I want to use up every delicious piece.
I decided to add a little color to the foil butterfly layer with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. It is sponged on right over the rub-on and it added a beautiful glow and didn't harm the transfer at all! I also die cut a pretty little banner layer using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo Die Set. Vellum is great for adding a subtle layer and adds a very feminine look.
The main image is adhered with Dimension Foam Squares. Popping up the main focal point always helps it pop out more.
To finish it off I added in a beautiful sentiment, many thanks, using the new Essentials by Ellen Many Thanks Die. What a gorgeous script! At the top of the design I added in some sweet little vellum die cut leaves from the Bold Blossoms Die Set. These were released awhile ago but I love dies that I can use over and over and over again!
Thanks so much for joining me today in the CLASSroom! I hope this inspires you to try your hand at adding foil accents to your next project!
