Hi everyone! Can you believe Christmas is this week? Seriously, someone pinch me!
Today, I thought it would be fun to share how to create a fun Christmas card with nearly no holiday product! I love finding products that are versatile and learning tricks to utilize what I have beyond it's basic intent! All you need is a great sentiment stamp!
I start with a die cut tag from Neenah White card stock.
Then, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using Black Versafine ink. I love how this really makes the sentiment "pop"!
Next, I stamped a dog from Avery Elle's Furry Friends.
Then, using a Memento marker, I added lines to make him look like he's wearing a sweater. Simple to do and it's a great way to stretch the stamps! It would be easy to add antlers or a bow tie or just about anything. :)
Then, I colored the puppy in with Copics.
And gave him a nice, festive green sweater.
Once I had the coloring done, I went back in and added additional stitching details around the sleeves with a pen. Again, super easy! Just practice on a scratch piece of paper first.
To create some patterned paper, I stamped what should be berries from the Avery Elle Fa La La stamp set in silver ink. I thought they looked just like snow!
Finally, I die cut the same tag shape using Avery Elle patterned paper. I absolutely love these 6x6 pads!
Then, I secured the layers together and added a twine bow.
Then, I added it to the card using a bit of dimensional foam.
At the last minute, I decided he needed some snowflakes on his sweater. I just used a post it to mask the area I didn't want to stamp and added some additional details to the sweater.
Here it is all complete and it makes me so happy!
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me! I wish you the merriest of holidays this winter and can't wait to see you hear again in the new year!
XOXO,
Heather
