Merry Christmas to you all! I couldn't pass up this opportunity to use one of my most favorite stamp sets before the holiday season is officially over! And I combined it with my current most favorite technique, watercolor! Doesn't Julie's Essentials by Ellen Mondo Poinsettia simply shine for the winter season (I think I'll still be using it well into January and February! :)
This card was quick and easy to create . . . here are the steps. (All bold products are linked below in the supply section):
1. Stamp Mondo Poinsettia with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink onto Ranger Watercolor Paper. This line of ink is waterproof and an excellent choice to use with watercoloring.
2. Dilute Festive Berries Distress Ink refill with water, to create a lighter shade. Color all poinsettia leaves:
3. Add darker shading to leaves, using fuller strength Festive Berries ink:
4. Stamp green leaves with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink; watercolor with Peeled Paint Distress Ink:
5. Color flower center berries with Wild Honey and Barn Door Distress Markers. Watercolor edges of stamped piece with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink:
6. Stamp sentiment, stars and heart from Cozy Christmas with Delicata Golden Glitz ink. Glitter flower centers with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Marker:
7. To finish the card, I matted the stamped piece with a layer of Bazzill Robin's Egg cardstock, then mounted the piece with Copic Foam Tape to a Bazzill Peppermint card base.
Wishing you Peace, Joy and Love this Christmas Day, from everyone here at Ellen Hutson LLC! ~ Sharon
