Hi everyone! Carly here to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! Or perhaps just Happy Thursday but either way it's an extra special day as we get ready to celebrate our 9th birthday this weekend here at Ellen Hutson LLC! Thanks for stopping by for #throwbackthursday before the birthday & Black Friday celebration gets started tomorrow! Today I created a card that was Ellen's awesome idea for a way to use the negative die cutting space...
1. I started by creating my sequined panel...Using a 3x3 square of Be Creative double-sided adhesive (with the protective backing still on one side), I carefully "wound" the sequin trim back & forth while pressing it into the adhesive.
2. Next I cut a 3-3/4 x 5 panel from Desert Storm and positioned my 2-1/4 circle die in the corner where I wanted my ornament to be, temporarily securing it with Micropore tape for die cutting (washi tape would work well too).
3. After die cutting my circle, I wanted to add a topper to my ornament but I didn't have the right stamp so I used the backside of the smallest gift from the Essentials by Ellen Christmas Scribbles set. And I stamped my "DIY ornament topper" in Delicata Golden Glitz.
4. Next I added a bow from the Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright stamp set.
5. I used a pen to add lines to my ornament topper.
6. I added some branches from the Essentials by Ellen Christmas Scribbles set in Avery Elle Sea Glass ink.
7. I added a sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright stamp set. Then I removed the protective backing from my sequined panel and adhered it to the front of a Desert Storm card.
8. Finally I foam mounted my stamped panel to my card, over my sequined panel.
