Happy Thursday! It's Carly here for #throwbackthursday!
I recently picked up some Crystal Clear Plastic to use for shaker cards and I was wondering what else it might be good for. I discovered the Classroom actually has a category devoted to "Crystal Clear Plastic" and while exploring that category, I found the most amazing product by none other than our amazing captain, Ellen herself:
Ellen's article is a must-read! And checkout her gorgeous project! After I saw it, I found a snowflake die and created my own ornaments ASAP!
1. I started by die cutting 6 snowflakes from the Crystal Clear Plastic with the My Favorite Things Snowflake Splendor die set.
2. I stamped 3 of the snowflakes with the Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dots stamp set and the Glue Pad. I sprinkled Celadon Glitter Ritz on to the wet glue, shaking off the excess and returning it to the jar. Then I set my glittered snowflakes aside to dry.
3. After my glittered snowflakes were dry, I folded all my snowflakes in half.
4. I adhered my snowflakes together with just a bit of Glossy Accents in the middle. Before gluing the last snowflakes together (think snowflakes 1 and 6), I added my ornament hanger in the middle (a loop of metallic silver cord with jingle bells knotted on the bottom).
After creating my own crystal clear ornament, I was excited to make more dimensional snowflakes and I thought it would make a cute addition to a holiday tag. What do you think?
1. To create my tag, I cut a tag from Desert Storm cardstock and stamped the little dots from the Bokeh Dots set (the same one I've used for the clear snowflakes,) with silver.
2. I stamped & embossed my sentiment and "sparkles" in white. And I added a little white splatter to the bottom.
3. For my dimensional crystal clear snowflake, I used 5 crystal clear plastic die cut snowflakes that I stamped & glittered.
4. I adhered my folded snowflakes together but instead of connecting the last snowflakes together (think 1 and 5), I adhered those to the tag.
5. I finished my tag with a silver foil circle at the top to create a reinforcer, some clear sequins, silver cord and jingle bells.
Have a great day!
