Happy Wednesday! I'm here today sharing a fun technique card! I've always ooooh'd and ahhhh'd over this technique and I must admit it took my quite some time to figure out how to do it! This technique is a form of in-lay die cutting but you stamp a panel and then die cut your sentiment.
I love the depth of this technique!
First I stamped the flowers in Avery Elle Cherry Ink. I love pigment inks for this technique because they're super crisp!
Then I added leaves in Avery Elle Lemon Grass.
Holly in Jungle.
I used Avery Elle Truffle on the inside of the leaves - it's brown but it works perfectly!
I surrounded the poinsettias with Avery Elle Ocean Mist.
Again, I stamped the inside of these flowers with Avery Elle Truffle.
Lastly, I finished the entire cluster off with Avery Elle Vino berries.
Next, I die cut my panel and the sentiment. Do not throw away anything at this point! You'll notice I keep it on the BigShot plate to keep everything perfect while I work on the panel.
When it comes to the card base, it's super critical that you have ample adhesive EVERYWHERE you'll be having die cut bits adhere! It's hard to see here but I really coated the top half so that everywhere that card stock is exposed, they'll be adhesive already in place.
Then, once I had ample adhesive, I adhered the panel. You can see the white space where the sentiment will go - that's got lots of adhesive ready to adhere the die cuts. :) Am I stressing that enough? :)
To start, I cut a merry in green card stock and punched any loops out so that I'd be able to put the original die cut piece back in those loops! Then, I tucked that in the negative of the merry die.
Now all I have left to adhere are the loops. To adhere these, I simply line the word die up over the green sentiment and punch them through with tweezers.
Then, I cut 3 more merry dies and adhered them to the original.
Finally, I adhere the originally stamped merry back to the top of the green.
Lastly, I added sequins and it's done!
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me. I hope you have a fabulous day!
XOXO, Heather
