Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. I love making snowy winter scenes for my holiday cards and couldn’t wait to play with the new Memory Box Cascade Evergreen Frame, Simple Evergreen Frame, Evergreen Trio and Mountain Evergreen. This is my first attempt using these dies and thought I would take you guys along with me to see how they work together. For some reason I decided to complicate the process by adding Polar White Flower Soft to the mix and may have gotten a little carried away with snow but I still like how it turned out.
Start by cutting all the tree sections and white ground section, apply Crafter’s Pick Ultimate Glue to each tree with your finger and then apply the Flower Soft.
Note: I keep my Flower Soft in a storage container. I can apply it right in the container and it contains the mess.
Apply double stick tape to the front of the Simple Evergreen Frame and attach the Cascade Evergreen Frame to the top of it.
I have to admit I took a bit of a misstep here. It would have been quite a bit easier to apply the double stick tape to the back of the Simple Evergreen Frame and attach it to the card base. Live and learn.
Apply double stick tape to the back of the two frames and attach to the card base.
I failed to get a picture of attaching the snowy ground section to the card base.
Cut a frame using the Nesting Card Templates, attach thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach to the front of the card.
Create falling snow on the sky area of the card base applying tiny dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls. I failed to get a picture of this step before I attached the trees.
I couldn’t decide if I wanted to leave the scene totally open or if I wanted to add the largest tree. I ended up applying a double section of mounting tape in the sky area and double stick tape to the lower portion of the large tree and attached to the scene.
I like all the white trees against the blue sky and falling snow.
When I finished the snowy card I made a couple more simplified blue and green versions that were quick and easy to put together.
The cardinals on the card below are a sneak peek of the upcoming Impression Obsession die release. The frame was made using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.
Thanks for coming to the CLASSroom today. I hope my overly snowy project has inspired you to get an early start on your holiday cards.
