Ok, I gotta confess: Now that I have a FUSE, I'm having the hardest time putting it down. It is just waaaay WAAAAAY too much fun!!! I can't stop making shakery things--and then playing with them when I'm done makin' 'em!
My blending skills are still lack-luster, but I think dry embossing the spider web die into the background camouflaged that issue nicely. My reason for dry embossing the web was simple: I didn't have a web stamp or stencil to create the background I wanted, and shaker material would probably have gotten stuck/caught in the web if I tried to glue a delicate/fancy die cut shape to that background.
If you've never pressure/dry embossed a low-profile die with your Big Shot, I do have some tips!
Open all tabs of the Big Shot Multi-purpose Platform and use the following sandwich:
- Cutting Pad
- Silicone Rubber Sheet
- Paper
- Low profile die (use removable tape to keep die in place)
- Texturz Impressions Pad (this is a hard, durable plastic pad, never used for die cutting so it does not leave etch marks on the front of your card; it is definitely worth the minor investment, IMHO for the flexibility of dry embossing low profile dies.)
Thank you for taking the time to give our video a thumbs' up over HERE on our YouTube Channel! It is greatly appreciated!
Happy Mundane! :)
Designer note: I used a retired low profile spider web die, but others that could create the same effect are listed in the supplies below.
