The holiday aisles at the grocery stores stocked with candy this time of year inspired today's project! Hopefully these cute pillow box treat holders will help you get prepared for Halloween!
Here are the easy steps . . . (bold products are linked below in the supply section)
1. Using MFT's Square Pillow Box die, cut your chosen colors of cardstock; I used Bazzill's appropriately named Candy Corn (orange), Gummy Bear (purple), and Gummy Worms (medium gray)!
2. Using Julie's Essentials by Ellen Got Candy? stamp set, I planned out which stamps I wanted to use on each die cut box:
3. Most of the images were stamped in Versafine's Onyx Black ink. Because I wanted to use three different ink colors for the ghost, I cut him apart and stamped his body in Ranger's Glacier White Pigment Ink:
4. After the ghost dried, I filled in his body with Zig's White Wink of Stella shimmery brush marker:
Then I stamped the ghost's eyes/mouth with the Versafine Onyx Black and the shadow beneath him in Versamark Dazzle Frost (see photo below).
5. To fold up the boxes, I used my Teflon Bone Folder along the die's scored fold lines and placed X-Press It's 1/4" High Tack Double-Sided Tissue Tape along the small flap, removed the liner, and pressed the boxes closed:
6. I also stamped on the top flap, so the recipients get a little surprise before they open the boxes!
A few more box details: Gray center box -- The bat and his sentiments were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, the stars with Versarmark Dazzle Frost, and dots of the White Wink of Stella were added for the bat's eyes and tiny stars. Orange box -- The sentiment was white heat embossed, the pumpkin stamped with Memento Potter's Clay ink and filled in with Copic YR16, spider's squiggle line hand-drawn with Copic Black Multiliner.
7. Fill the boxes with your chosen candy!
Isn't this cute Got Candy? stamp set perfect for Halloween treats?!! I hope you'll have fun with this project!
