Hello, friends! I'm Sandy Allnock and I'm so stinkin' excited that today is finally here. I say finally because I've been planning this for over six months...and today's the day I launch a FREE class!
Yes, I said free! "Go for the Gold" is 7 days in a row of inspiration using lots and lots of amazing gold touches on cards. The first card is here in this post today, then the rest of the class with videos will be over on my blog. No need to sign up for anything...it's all public each day, and if you sign up to subscribe either on my blog or my YouTube channel, it'll all be delivered to your inbox!
The timing might seem a little early for holiday cards...but there's a very special reason I wanted to launch this in September: because a lot of the gold products with mica content in them can be damaged by shipping in the cold days of winter! Rather than waiting til closer to Christmas, we need to stock up on all the gold goodness when the weather's good.
Goodies for you... and a sale!

PLUS, I'll be giving away 5 packs of stampy goodies to 5 lucky winners (instructions are over on my blog) - and a grand prize winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to shop for more goodies here at Ellen Hutson LLC!
Ornament Card
Sometimes a card can be more than a card - and this one bears an ornament, too! The pair of hearts is gently adhered to the card, and can be removed by the recipient and hung on their Christmas tree.
Watch the video below, or click HERE to watch in HD on YouTube:
The folk heart dies were perfect for this technique, since when they're nested together they make an adorable combination for an ornament. Gold Modeling Creme was applied with a palette knife to the large heart, and then stamped with the poinsettia from the Mistletoe and Holly set; the small heart had the creme applied through the scrolled background stencil. Lawn Fawn has hemp cord with gold flecks, which added to the pretty combination!
The card background was stamped in pretty inks from Mama Elephant - mojito and winter - and a small sliver of vellum was attached with brads. The card base also had the edges covered with a thin layer of the same modelling creme - and the shine just added to the effect of the card!
Edited to add: Bonus project!
I'll be creating another project with the Modelier Creme LIVE during a Periscope broadcast today. If you're not familiar with Periscope, it's a free app (download on itunes or google play) and you can watch as life happens around the world! My user name there is Sandy Allnock, and I hope we can connect....I'll share additional projects with the supplies from each class! Once today's project is done I'll add it here.
We had such fun on Periscope - in two separate live broadcasts, I demonstrated using a mini ink blending tool to add Modellier Creme to a wood stamp mount, and I stamped the image onto paper and glued it on. I also showed how to apply it that way to a corner of a black art journal page, following it up with using a rose stencil. This has so many possibilities!
Join me all week!
I hope you'll join me on my blog this week, and perhaps enter a card and qualify to win a prize! You can read more and get a little more of a preview on today's blog post...I'll meet you over there!
Happy cardmaking!
Sandy
