I am a lucky person to have this lovely lady in my life! Karolyn Loncon is a treasure - do you see that twinkle in her eyes? That twinkle is there every time I see her! Her kindness, humor and caring spirit are so very appreciated and her hugs are the absolute best!
Karolyn's clean and simple style are showcased on each and every project she shares on her blog, Paper Therapy. The projects she creates for Avery Elle and My Favorite Things as a designer for each of these companies are done with precision - her attention to detail is outstanding.
Please join me in thanking Karolyn for sharing her creativity and this fabulous fun fold with us here in the CLASSroom by heading over to her blog Paper Therapy and leaving a comment there by August 19th. Look for the post where she shares her sneak peek of the project below along with the following blog candy photo. One lucky random winner will receive these goodies that Karolyn used in creating her project today!
Karolyn, thank you so much for being a part of my life - your kindness and cheerfulness are so very appreciated! As well, thank you for inspiring us with this fantastic creation today! Big hugs, Ellen
Typically I make cards that are almost always standard A2 sized and top folding. I definitely get in a rut. So I love it when I discover a new and creative fold idea that still allows me to use my A2 envelopes, but adds some fun interest and helps get me out of that rut. Today’s card is a perfect example of that!
I paired the lovely Stitched Square Frame Die-Namics from My Favorite Things with the Bold Blooms Stamps and the Bold Blossom Dies from Essentials By Ellen, and had a blast creating this project!
I adore the way that the flapped side of the card fits perfectly inside that stitched frame. I also love the way that the ink-blended blossom and leaves add an awesome pop of color inside that black and white stitched frame.
I created a video to help demonstrate how I created this project. The video includes some fun tips on how to intensify the color of patterned paper by adding VersaMark and heat embossing it with Clear Embossing Powder. I didn’t mention it in the video, but I think the fold of this card lends itself perfectly to adding a gift card inside, since the flap really helps keep the card closed securely! I’ve listed the products that I used below! I seriously hope you’ll give this fold a try – it’s super easy and a fun departure from the standard A2, top-folding card – don’t you think?
