I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most technique oriented gal. I don't like getting messy. At all. I'm just a girl that loves making cute cards and using lots of supplies to do it.
Every once in awhile... I get a technique-y idea and I have to execute it!
First I created a pattern with my 3mm Little B wash tape. I had a general idea of what I wanted the pattern to look like but ultimately the options to create your own pattern are endless and will be completely unique!
Here's a tip - even though washi is low tack, it's a good idea to tap it against a shirt to make it super low tack.
I created a mask to isolate just one triangle at a time so I could add ink to the inner of my triangle.
I used a simple finger tip sponge dauber to add the ink to my card. For this technique, the Avery Elle inks worked really great! You can definitely push them around and add enough ink to get the perfect color!
Here's a picture as it is coming together. I just worked my way up the card making sure to balance my colors to my liking.
All complete! Pretty, right? Almost so pretty I didn't want to touch it.
Finally I got the courage to remove the washi tape. I used my craft tweezers and was extremely careful to not let any of the ink on the top of the washi tape transfer to any of the card white space.
Next I added a die cut sentiment to the front of the card. I die cut the sentiment once in Licorice and 3 times in marshmallow and then adhered it all together with Tombow Liquid Mono.
Next I added a coordinating sentiment from Avery Elle's Simply Said: Amazing and then mounted the layer onto a card base. I love how versatile these stamps and dies are!
Finally I added some splatter across the front of the card. To create my splatter, I simply used the black watercolor in the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors!
Totally a different look for me but I had so much fun doing it!
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me. I hope you've had a terrific day! XOXO, Heather
