Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I'm so excited to be here today sharing a fun card that I created a soft watercolor background to showcase lots of new fabulous Avery Elle product.
For the images, I am using the new Avery Elle Seal-abrate stamp set. Now I have to admit I'm slightly biased because I did have something to do with drawing these seals but I do think they are pretty darn cute!
I colored the seals in with Copics - I really have been loving the W shades (all linked below).
Then I colored in the hat and cupcake.
I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. Eep! Cute, right?
next, I created an ombre watercolor background with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors! These watercolors are simply wonderful - I love how soft they go on! To create the ombre, I simply added more concentrated colors at the bottom and made sure to bring more water to my brush as I worked my way up! Don't mind the post its - I just needed something to keep my watercolor paper in place!
One of my favorite new products from the latest Avery Elle release are the Double Pierced Rectangles! These cut a rectangle but leave piercing on both sides of the cut lines. They're genius!
Then I matted my pierced watercolor layer onto a card base!
Next I worked on the banner - I used a new banner from the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die set.
Look how great it looks "popped up" just by bending the banner at the stitches.
Now I wanted to take up a bit more room on the banner with the stamp so I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment (from the new Avery Elle Bring on the Cake set) off to the side leaving enough room for one more Happy!
Then I covered the stamped portion of the banner with some masking material and stamped just the happy onto the banner. I didn't care too much about inking the birthday portion of the stamp because it would stamp onto the mask instead of the banner.
Then, before I added the seals, I decided I wanted some dark spatter - so I masked the white areas and added spatter just by flicking the watercolor with my watercolor brush! I love how this always yields the perfect color!
Then I positioned and adhered everything to the card using foam adhesive.
Lastly, I finished it off with white gel pen!
I love how fun this card is and it's actually rather easy too! It's also got a bit of something to make people wonder 'how did they do that?' - which I always enjoy!
Thanks so much for sharing part of your day with me! I hope you have a great day!
