There are so many wonderful and talented designers in our industry and today we are thrilled to welcome Nichol Magouirk as she joins us here in the CLASSroom!
I'm not certain how Nichol does it all with such excellence, but she does! You can find her on a multitude of design teams - her work with Pretty Pink Posh, Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn always captures me as we carry these products in our store and I absolutely LOVE what she does with them. Nichol's YouTube video tutorials are excellent - head over to her channel and subscribe now - you will learn so much. You can also find Nichol teaching Gorgeous Greeting Cards: Stamping & Beyond on Craftsy.
We would appreciate your help thanking Nichol for sharing her creativity and "fintastic" coloring skills with us here by heading over to her blog Nichol Magouirk and leaving a comment there by June 19th. Look for the post where she shares her sneak peek of the project below along with the following blog candy photo. One lucky random winner will receive these fun goodies!
Nichol, thank you so much for this super fun project and for inspiring us with your creativity! Big hugs, Ellen.
Hi there! It’s Nichol here and I’m very excited to share a new card here in the CLASSroom. I am a big fan of interactive card elements such as pop ups inside cards, moving components and of course, windows! The Essentials by Ellen Mini Window Designer Dies make the perfect addition to any card, adding that fun hidden, interactive element so popular right now.
Today I’m sharing a bright summery card where I combined stamped images from the new Lawn Fawn Fintastic Friends Stamp Set to create a hidden fish tank behind the “doors” or window of the Essentials by Ellen Mini Window double window die cut.
To give the card recipient a bit of a “preview” of what to expect inside the window, I stamped a greeting from the lovely Essentials by Ellen Hello Gorgeous Stamp Set and added a couple more stamped and colored fishy images from the Lawn Fawn Fintastic Friends Stamp Set to the outside of the interactive window element.
While I created a summery fish scene here you could easily create a similar style birthday themed card using stamps from the Lawn Party Animal Stamp Set or a wedding card using the images from the Lawn Fawn Happy Wedding Stamp Set. I love that this technique could be used to create almost any kind of card!
Be sure to check out the how-to video below for step-by-step directions on how to create this interactive window card.
Thanks so much for hanging out with me today! - Nichol
