When I spied this clever gem by Noblankspace on Instagram, I 'bout fell off my chair! I mean, that is some seriously brilliant paradigm shifting! I KNOW, RIGHT?!!!
I was so taken with his idea, I wanted to try it! I don't think my sax turned out as realistic looking as his, but I was going on memory and couldn't find the link to his sneak peek again on Instagram until I had finished this thing. I do want to try it again and draw a few better details.
Needless to say, it was FUN, and that's what it's all about, right?!
Made some DIY thickers and gave them a lofty clear glaze... (how-to on the video) It turned out lumpier/bumpier than I wanted because I accidentally set my hand into it and then had to apply more but, you know how that goes... Once you mash it, it's hard to get a smooth 2nd coat over the top. argh.
Couldn't resist giving the "pipe turned sax" the same treatment, and adding a few musical notes.
Anyhoo, I just had to share how WG Burgoyne (@noblankspace on Instagram) gave that particular image such a fantastic dual purpose... TOTALLY GENIUS!!! *fist pump*
You can enjoy this week's video in HD on YouTube, and thank you for taking a moment to give us a thumbs' up! As always, we appreciate you tuning in each week and for subscribing!
