Her blog is appropriately named Sprinkled with Glitter and when visiting you will find so much to inspire you!
Not only does her work sparkle, but her personality does as well. I had the good fortune to spend some time with her this past Winter CHA and she is an absolute treasure. It was so much fun getting to know her better!
As well Carissa puts together fabulous videos AND she is sharing one with us here today! You can find her channel here on YouTube - be certain to subscribe as she showcases such beautiful projects complete with directions.
Please join me in taking this opportunity to welcome and share our thanks with Carissa by heading over to her blog, Sprinkled with Glitter and leave a comment there before April 19th. We have some goodies awaiting you there and one lucky random winner will win a bunch of the items she used to complete today's project. Carissa, it is such a pleasure getting to know you better - thank you for sharing your crazy awesome skills with us here today!! -Ellen
Hi everyone! It’s Carissa with you here today and I’m so excited to share a fun card project with you featuring Thermo-web’s DecoFoil and the gorgeous Essentials By Ellen Bold Blossoms Dies, designed by none other than the fabulous Julie Ebersole {love that girl}!
DecoFoil is an amazing product from Thermoweb. It can be used in a variety of ways. Thermoweb has created a line of adhesives to use with the DecoFoil, which can be used on your paper crafting projects, as well as on fabric. That’s right ya’ll! You can foil your fabric. You can also use the foil with digital stamp images and a laminator…which means, you can foil en masse with ease! {Watch out world…everything will be gold foiled soon!}
Today I’m going to show you how to create custom foiled foam embellishments that are great for card projects, tags, scrapbook pages, gift toppers and more. You’re going to be amazed and how wonderfully easy these are, and how gorgeous they’ll look on your projects. The best part is that you can do this with ANY die that you own…giving you even more ways to use your beloved dies…and even more excuses to buy them! ;)
In addition to showing you how to create foiled foam die cuts, I’ll also walk you through how I created the colored vellum banner for my card. I love to create colored vellum. It’s so easy and gives such a beautiful result. You just need a Copic marker in your favorite color and some vellum. For today’s card, I created a marbled effect on the vellum by using an alcohol swab and dabbing at the Copic marker. {I’ll show you exactly how that’s done in the video below.}
Be sure to check out the video…I’ll give you lots and tips and tricks along the way. And be sure to give it a thumb’s up! You can watch the video in HD by visiting the Ellen Hutson YouTube channel.
For your convenience, the products used in this project are listed below.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!
