I'm a sucker for a sweet stamp set and oh gosh does Mama Elephant know how to create the cute stuff. This little girl from Shooting Star is just too cute and needed to be mine. :) I thought it would be fun to create an easy, subtle Distress Ink blended background for her using some cloud dies for her to sit on! I love how this simple technique makes images "pop" off the card.
First I stamped the girl on white card stock with my Memento ink so I could color her in with Copics.
I ran her through my Big Shot with the coordinating die to cute her out perfectly.
I then die cut a pair of clouds from the new Mama Elephant Stitched Sky dies.
To create my card base, I die cut an A2 sized stitched panel from the Mama Elephant Peek A Frame die set and adhered it to a top folding card base.
To add some depth and to ground the front elements of the card, I thought it would be fun to add a blended Distress Ink background using one of my favorites Tumbled Glass.
I kept it pretty light but it's amazing just how much of a difference this little bit of blending makes!
It really makes the white of the clouds "pop" off the card!
I added some stars from the same stamp set in Avery Elle Aquamarine ink.
I just adore this sentiment so much!
Lastly, I finished the card off with some Lawn Fawn twine and 4mm Pretty Pink Posh sequins! Eep, I love these two products so much!
Thanks so much for stopping by and joining me today! Have you tried ink blending? I'd love to know what you're favorite colors are!
XOXO! Heather
