Happy Wednesday y'all! Hope you're having a wonderful week! I'm enjoying getting back into the swing of things and finally got some time in my craftroom to play with my stamps and watercolors. Today, my card shows one way you can play with watercolors to accent your stamps.
To start, I stamped my sentiment on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. This stuff is awesome - purely for that smooth side. Just to be safe, I heat set my sentiment first.
I love, love, LOVE my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors so much. They work just perfectly.
I tried my best to capture this process but it really takes just putting the color on and not messing with it too much.
And more... If any colors get too dark, a baby wipe works great for picking up some of the color.
Next comes the hardest part... walking away. It's so hard not to fuss with it but I promise the less you fuss, the better it will ultimately look!
Once it was dry, I cut it down to nest on my A2 cardfront using my favorite Avery Elle Finished Frames die.
Then, I stamped the sentiment and pen tip again to create a quick mask and created a spatter with my black watercolor. I just flicked my paintbrush to get the spatter I perfect. So controlled. So happy.
Here's post spatter. The mask just helps keeps the spatter away from my sentiment.
Next, I added Wink of Stella to the broad brushstrokes of my sentiment. I used the clear just incase I went outside the lines.
Sequins. Because no project is complete without them. I love using Glue dots to secure my sequins.
All done!
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me! I hope you have a great day!
