Now that Christmas is over and 2014 is slowly winding down, how about treating yourself a little bit?!! Or you just may still have some holiday get-togethers going on this weekend and next week, and this gift tag may just come in handy for some last minute gifts or celebrations!
Note: We are still working out a few kinks to the new website's product linking feature, so not all products appear with their thumbnail photos at the end of the post, but their words are all linked within this post.
For this gift tag, I did a variation to this year's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist I posted on December 11 <== Click this link for full tutorial instructions). After giving a #8 manila tag a coating of Gesso and letting it dry, I dripped these colors of Copic Various Ink Refills onto the tag horizontally:
When previously doing this technique I had used only one color of ink refill, but this time I used three coordinating colors and dripped the ink sideways, alternating colors. Here are a few stepped-out photos of the dripping progress. The colors I used were BG32, BV02, and B23:
Once the refill ink thoroughly dried, I added some stitching detail using the line of straight stitches from My Favorite Things Blueprints 13. I love that you can place this line anywhere you'd like some faux stitching!
Next, I stamped some of Julie's Bokeh Dots with Versafine Onyx Black ink, creating a visual triangle with the stamping:
The Treat Yo Self die was cut from Bazzill Licorice Twist Card Shoppe cardstock four times and glued together using Copic's X-Press It Glue Marker, to give it more dimension and help it stand out from the busy background.
To finish the tag, I tied some Black Tinsel Twine through the reinforced hole, to give the tag a little holiday glitz, and tied it around a bottle of champagne ... which would make a great hostess gift (or treat for yo'self) this New Year's Eve!
Thanks so much for joining me for my last project of 2014 ... I wish you a very happy New Year! ~ Sharon
