Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. I love the Taylored Expressions Seasonal Trees die and thought it would be so pretty cut in light cardstock and framed in a brightly colored see thru window made using the Nesting Rectangles.
I started by cutting the trees, hand cutting a ground piece with deckle scissors and attaching it to the back of the of the trees with Be Creative 1/8” double stick tape.
I placed two pieces of cream cardstock on the cutting platform and cut them both at one time so they would be perfectly matched when assembling the card.
I cut the opening in the main card front using a die that was one step larger and would allow the matted show through.
I attached the trees to the back of one of the frames with 1/4” double stick tape. Then I turned the frame over and attached the second frame to the back of the trees with double stick tape sandwiching them in between to create a clean and polished finish for the inside of the card. I didn’t want the back edge of the tree frame and adhesive to show when opening the card.
I attached the completed tree frame to the inside of the card with double stick tape.
Here’s a picture of the inside of the card showing how nicely finished it is on the inside.
I didn’t attach any of the frame sections together with mounting tape (as I usually do on the outside of a card) because I wanted it to be flat and not too bulky when closing.
The hand cut ground snow adds depth and allows the snow banks around the trees to be more prominent.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my see thru silhouette project today. There are so many wonderful dies on the market today that you could use to create similar projects. I’m sure you already have one or two in your stash. I know I do.
