Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. I needed some thank you note cards to attach to holiday thank you gifts for a few of my friends. I thought the 3” x 3” card was the just the perfect size to pair with the Impression Obsession Circle Greeting Cutout set. I wanted the cards to fit easily into an envelope so I embellished with just a few pieces of the Pine Sprig Cluster and a tiny white silk bow.
Cut the red square layer and the sentiment.
The magnetic platform comes in so handy for precise cutting. Note that I placed an arrow on the back of the sentiment die so I could be sure I had it placed straight up for the cut. I probably could have cut the frame and sentiment together but didn’t think of it at the time.
Place both square dies over the cardstock on the magnetic platform and cut. The square cut opening on the green layer allowed me to have green contrast and still allow the white layer to show through behind the sentiment.
Cut several pieces of pine sprigs.
The card base is 6” x 3” and scored at 3”. Gather all the pieces and assemble your cards.
Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the sentiment layer and attach to the green background layer.
Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of green layer and attach to the white card base. Using mounting tape for this is not necessary but I like how it holds the sentiment up away from the white for added dimension.
Attach the pine sprigs to the top of the card with glossy accents.
Attach the tiny blow with a glue dot for the finishing touch.
Cutting all the pieces for my cards at once made assembly go very quickly.
I think it is always nice to use red, green and white to make my thank you cards for gifts received during the holidays
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a safe New Year’s Eve and a very happy New Year!
