We are super excited to have Kelly back with us again this year. Her sweet nature is evident in every creation she shares! The Lawn Fawn product line has been magical this year and to see how Kelly uses these adorable Critters in such a "girly" way makes me grin! As well, the scalloped lace is a stroke of genius :)
Lawn Fawn inspiration abounds on the Lawn Fawn blog as Kelly shares wonderful videos, along with the work of their very talented design team.
Thank you Kelly for once again sharing your creative talents with us and for joining in the fun here again this year. I look forwards to seeing you soon at Winter CHA and seeing what new designs you and your team have come up with! -Ellen
Hello, everyone! I am so excited to be a part of Ellen's 12 Feminine Tags of Christmas. This event is so much fun!
When I think of feminine things, I definitely think of lace! I thought it would be cool to create a lacy look by layering turquoise and white scalloped die cuts, so I cut a ton of them out of both colors of card stock using the Stitched Scalloped Borders.
I started with a solid piece of turquoise at the bottom, and then layered a white scallop on top, then turquoise, then white, etc. I used liquid glue so that it would be easier to move them around and position them. This takes a while, but the look is totally worth it!
Once the layering was all done, I cut along the sides of the tag to trim it down and get a cool layered, lacy background!
Next up, I stamped, colored with Copics, and die cut the walrus and ice from Critters in the Arctic.
I decided to take a cue from my tag from last year, and I added some cute eyelashes to the walrus with my Memento marker. I just think it is too funny to see a walrus with long eyelashes!
I was feeling the need to get inky, so I got out my pink Distress Inks and layered them onto some white card stock with the mini foam ink blending tool. I love that thing!
Once I was happy with my pink sky, I sprayed some Perfect Pearls Mist onto my craft mat, picked up some with my paint brush, and then tapped the paint brush to splatter some on my background. I love this snowy look! To add even more "snow", I used the Pico Embellisher to randomly add some fun white snow dots to my background.
I punched a hole in my tag with my Cropadile since I had so many layers. Then I stamped my sentiment from Joy to the Woods and flagged the ends with my scissors.
I thought it would be fun to add a cute scarf from Snow Day to my walrus, but to do so I needed to cut her tusks again so that I could layer them over the scarf. I used my Memento marker to line the edges and give it a nice clean look.
I added some Lawn Trimmings and a die cut reinforcer tab to the tag to finish it off!
Thank you so much for having me, Ellen! I had such a blast!
