Hello! I'm so excited to share today's card with you. I'm typically a bright and cheery crafter, so this is a bit of a stretch for me. I used the new Avery Elle More Stories stamp set to create this woodland fox/wolf. Now I have to admit that this is another set I drew so I am a little biased but I just love this set! The theme is still the same to the original Storybook but there's a few new images that really make me happy.
Since I knew I was going to be watercoloring these images in, I went ahead and used my favorite watercolor cardstock and a great waterproof ink.
When I'm working with a set like this, I'll often stamp a bunch of the images (ahem - or nearly every single image I might possibly want to work with). While I definitely won't use all of them on this card, I'll have them ready to go for other cards and I simply save them in my Avery Elle storage pockets along with my stamps and dies. :)
I simply watercolored everything in with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I love love love these watercolors. Just check out these colors!
Once they're dry, I die cut everything out.
I just love how easy it is to play with them as I create this way.
I had the idea to use a tag on my card and I am completely smitten by the Pretty Pink Posh stitched tag die. Then I thought I would create a snowbank with the stitched curve Borders die.
To figure out where I want my snowbank (aka the bottom of the tag, I simply cut the tag out of white and then position the curve about where I want it. Then I just run it through my die cutter - but removing my wolf first. :)
For the background, I wanted to use these tree trunks from one of my favorite Avery Elle stamp sets ever, Let it Snow inking the stamps with the new Avery Elle Silver Fox ink - it's the PERFECT shade of light grey!
Then I die cut the tag shape.
Here are all the pieces once they're die cut apart.
And here it is assembled, with the sentiment stamped.
Then I punched a hole in the tag and tied a bow with the Lawn Fawn twine.
With my tag complete, I stamped a background with Avery Elle Woodgrain & More and Avery Elle Kraft ink.
With my tag on my card, I decided I needed something he needed to look up at so I pulled out a bird from the Avery Elle Storybook set.
Here it is all done. :) I love how subtle the stamped silver fox background is.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me! Have a great day!
