Hello and happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Today's card is all about using watercolor to color in stamped images but stamped with color so that images appear soft. I love this technique!
All of the stamps I used are from the Lawn Fawn Love You S'more stamp set. Since I'm using watercolors (ahem, water) it's important to use watercolor paper and waterproof ink. First, I stamped the bear in Hero Arts Cup O' Joe.
Then, I stamped the curve to create the hill for the bear to sit on.
I didn't have a good yellow waterpoof ink so I have to be very careful as I will be introducing water. I just will need to make sure I don't bring the blue in the sky up to the yellow moon.
I love love LOVE my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors, which I see are back in stock now! Words do not express just how amazing these watercolors are - they truly go on like butter! There's even a spot on the top of the lid to create your own little cheater sheet so you know which color is which. I also love that it's so compact and doesn't take up much space.
First, I heat set everything - just to be safe! Then, I went in and added the green for the hill.
and brown for the bear. I added all of my watercolors with a waterbrush and just used more or less water to get the color that I wanted.
Being very careful not to let the water touch the yellow ink, I watercolored the sky and the moon.
Once it was dry, and it's so hard to walk away and let it dry naturally but I promise it's worth it, I die cut my stamped/watercolored panel using my favorite Femme Frames die set.
Then, I layered it all together. The bottom scallop layer is also from the Femme Frames set.
With all of my layers adhered, I accented my scene with my new Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear sequins. To hold them in place, I use just a drop of Glossy Accents.
Instead of stamping or heat embossing stars, I simply added white to my watercolored sky with my trusty white gel pen.
Here's an up close look - I love the subtle detail!
And then a healthy dose of Wink of Stella Clear glitter because I've come to the conclusion that no card is complete without it. :)
To finish it off, I added hearts above the bear's head, stamped in Avery Elle Raspberry to get a vivid heart that would almost pop off the page.
I simply adore the softness of stamping with color adds to a card! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me! I hope you've had a great day!
:) Heather
