Hello! Thrilled to be here in the CLASSroom today sharing a project that I made using one of the most amazing stamp sets ever! I finally got my hands on the new Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set and immediately had to make a card with it to share with you here! This set allows you to stamp flowers that look like they've been painted and I thought it would be great to share a little step by step here to show how easy these are to use since they can seem a little daunting when you look at them individually.
To start, I stamped the sketched lines of each flower with black ink first.
Then, right on top of the black sketched lines, I stamped the coordinating flowers with the lightest color ink using Hero Arts Butter Bar and Soft Cantaloupe.
With all my flowers complete, I'm ready to add the second, darker color.
Then, I stamped the darker colors to each of the flowers using Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Orange Soda.
With my flowers complete, it could add green to the petals. However, I didn't have two shades of green - so I inked up the flower with Hero Arts Green Hills and stamped it off on a piece of scrap paper first and then quickly stamped it on my panel. This allows me to stamp with the 2nd generation of the ink and get a much lighter color. This is a great trick for stretching your ink stash.
To trim my panel, I used the Dotted dies from Avery Elle. Depending on the thickness of your cardstock, this die either will emboss a dotted border or punch the dots all the way through. A trick if you're using thinner cardstock - just double it up and make sure to adhere where you'll be cutting so the dots don't pop out.
Next, to add the sentiment I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto black carsdtock. I used one of my favorite stamp sets - Avery Elle's Handwritten Notes.
To finish it all off, I adhered the sentiment labels to my panel with dimensional adhesive and wrapped some of my favorite silver string around the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me. I hope you have a great one!
