Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the CLASSroom. My project today was made with white die cut images that mimics the white images of the designer paper background. I love giving cards to my friends and loved ones that look a little complicated but that really only took a short time to create. Don’t you love die cuts? I sure do!
Here’s a picture of the elements used for my card.
Lay the cardstock on the magnetic platform, place the square dies face down and line them up and run through the machine to cut the frame.
Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame.
Cut two sections of fence to create a border for the back of the frame. To extend the fence to fit the frame apply glossy accents to the back of the first picket of one section and lay it over top of the end picket of the second section and secure in place.
Cut a portion off the bottom of the fence to shorten to allow enough space above for the bird and branch.
Turn the frame mounting tape side up and attach the frame.
Apply adhesive to the back of the decorative border and attach to the front of the frame.
Apply adhesive to the back of the fence covering the mounting tape and attach the frame to the designer paper card base.
Cut two bird and branch sections and cut the bird body (not including legs) off of one. Apply rolled glue dots to the back of the bird and attach it on top of the other bird and branch. This creates a slight element of dimension.
Form the leaves and branches lightly with a stylus and molding.
Cut the remaining branch with no bird apart to use as filler around the main bird branch. Tuck the pieces in under the fence and attach with glossy accents.
Attach a piece of mounting tape to the back of the bird and glossy accents to the main branch.
Tuck the main branch in under the frame and attach the bird and branch in place.
The fence and frame create a lovely base that allows the bird and branch to be the main focal point. I especially love that the branch hangs slightly down over the fence
The decorative eyelet border adds a touch of softness to the straight lines of the frame and fence.
I hope I have inspired you to take a look at your dies and see what you may have that would look wonderful in all all white. Thanks for stopping by and I will see you next time.
