Normally, I reach for a permanent black ink, i.e. Staz-On, to stamp an image I'd like to watercolor/color with water-based markers. But, the other day I wanted to use a softer colored ink and reached for Hero Arts' Shadow Ink in Soft Sand.
As I started to watercolor over the stamped images, I noticed something interesting--the inked lines "absorbed" the color I was washing over the image! I think it's a fun and different effect from the norm! It should be noted that my watercoloring medium in this instance was Distress Markers swiped against an acrylic block + a waterbrush
Be aware, in order to get the effect, you do have to be willing to color over the top and "outside the lines"... BE SLOPPY! I think of it as "impressionistic" watercolor. ;) *chuckle*
I think this li'l crab-guy from Lawn Fawn's Life is Good set looks so cute in this soft, subtle beach scene!
