It is with great delight that I share with you the creativity and inspiration of my friend Jennifer McGuire. Thank you Jennifer for sharing such a stunning tag and technique with all of us here again today and perhaps even more importantly thank you for your friendship, kindness and support! -Ellen
I am really addicted to using Embossing Paste! Today I decided to stamp on it and I love the results. And my die cutting my own stencil with Ellen's Craft-A-Board, I was able to have the perfect raised embossing paste area to stamp my wreath on. Yay!
1. Die cut the wreath from two pieces of Craft-A-Board. Adhere the pieces together, creating a double-thickness stencil.
2. Cut a piece of watercolor paper and position the wreath stencil slightly hanging off the edge. Tape in place.
3. Tie a string around the center of the wreath and tie a knot at top. (This will act as a handle so we can easily remove the center piece after applying embossing paste.) Temporarily adhere to the watercolor piece.
4. Apply embossing paste heavily over the stencil and smooth as much as possible.
5. Use tweezers to grab the string and remove the center part of the wreath stencil. Carefully remove the rest of the stencil. Let embossing paste dry completely.
6. Stamp the wreath with green inks twice on top of the embossing paste.
7. On the watercolor paper, trace the wreath with a Broken China Distress Marker. Use water and brush to pull the color away from the wreath, creating a soft blue sky background. Let dry.
8. Stamp snowflakes and stars with Soft Pool Ink.
9. Stamp bow with red ink on white cardstock. Add shading with dark red Copic Marker. Cut out and add to wreath.
10. Stamp greeting with black ink.
11. Mat piece with pink cardstock and add to white tag. Add stitching.
12. Add Liquid Pearl berries.
13. Cover all the paper pieces of the tag with Wink of Stella shimmer.
