Hello. I am excited to be a guest designer in the CLASSroom today and I have a Susan Tierney- Cockburn flower project and tutorial to share with you. I love all of Susan’s new flower dies and am especially fond of her Mini Daisy set.
Susan’s flowers are very easy to make and look so realistic when complete. She has created wonderful video tutorials for most of her sets that take away all the guesswork.
Let me show you how I colored my flower petals with Pan Pastel, lined and shaped the petals and assembled to create the daisy.
Using the soft knife point and cover I applied pale pink pastel to the petals and lightly blended in red pastel to the stem end of the petal.
Using the leaf tool and leaf pad I scored vein lines into the petals.
Holding the petal with the tweezers I formed and bent the petals rolling some backward and some forward to create a more natural flower when assembled.
I formed the calyx with the large stylus pressing into the molding pad to form a cup.
I dipped each petal into the Crafter’s Pick Ultimate Glue and attached the outer petals to the calyx. I attached the inner petals around the center and offset them over the outer petals.
I inserted a drop of green Paper Pen to the flower center.
I lightly sprinkled Flower Soft over the paper pen so it could adhere and give the appearance of pollen. I shook off the excess Flower Soft when the Paper Pen was dry.
I used the leaf tool and leaf pad to add veins to the foliage.
I have enjoyed being here with you today and I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial.
I would love for you to hope on over to my blog, Kittie Kraft and check out my blog candy offer of Susan's Rose set.
